    Are you an experienced commercial appraiser and intrigued by the idea of providing focused property tax management for a large and diverse portfolio of properties throughout the United States?

    In this role you would use your prior skill and training as an appraiser to act as a key member of a team of property tax professionals. We pride ourselves on preserving Church resources by using our expertise. You can be an important part of our team!


    The Senior Commercial Appraiser: (1) assembles valuation information from taxing jurisdictions about employer owned properties, (2) analyzes this information using generally accepted appraisal methods, and (3) when the valuation is excessive, initiates the appropriate appeal process to reduce the valuation and resulting property taxes. The incumbent also attends hearings and required meetings to validate the appraised value of the property.

    The incumbent ensures that:

    • Property tax payments are processed and delivered in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Property qualifying for exemption from taxation receives the appropriate exemption.
    • Prepares reports for management and assists in maintaining a database of properties and property tax information.


    Must have minimum of ten years experience in the real estate appraisal field with concentration in the commercial and income producing type of properties.

    Experienced in the ability to present evidence and articulate a point of argument in a legal or court room setting. Adept in analytical skills regarding financial statements, pro-forma statements, income and expense statements and real estate documents.

    Must be proficient in the use of programs such as Excel, Word and appraisal software (such as Argus) for analyzing property values and reporting.

    Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field of real estate, business, finance or accounting.

    Applicant must have a Certified General Appraiser license and be in good standing.

    Applicants with a certification from the Appraisal Institute as an MAI or an equivalent from an equally prestigious organization are preferred.

    Worthiness Qualification

    Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
