    Purposes

    The Human Resources Generalist assists with responsibilities in HR functional areas such as: benefits administration, training, performance management, onboarding, policy formulation and implementation, recruitment, employee relations, employment law compliance, compensation analysis and payroll administration. The HR Generalist will work closely with departments to support the strategy and mission of BYU-Pathway Worldwide.  

    Responsibilities

    Aligning workforce planning with business priorities by:

      • Maintaining an effective personnel system, track essential employee information and work histories.
      • Coordinating with the HR Director to identify HR solutions to support business strategy.
      • Communicating updates regarding HR processes.
      • Conducting interviews and working with line management throughout the sourcing, recruiting, and onboarding process.

    Assure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations governing employment by

      • Staying up-to-date with current and proposed laws and court decisions.
      • Consulting with designated professionals such as legal counsel and other HR professionals.
      • Formulating and implementing policies and practices to ensure compliance to federal and state laws governing employment.
      • Understanding employment regulations around work authorization documents including student visas.
         

    Advise management on employee work related issues by:

      • Meeting with management personnel to understand work issues and concerns.
      • Counseling with the HR Director and managers on possible solutions.

    Qualifications

    Education: Master's or bachelor’s degree in business management, human resources, or another relevant field

    Experience: 4 years of experience in human resources or a combination of education and experience

    Skills:

      • Demonstrated ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.
      • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication skills, with well-developed active listening skills is important.
      • Ability to identify and retain relevant information and disseminate information as needed.
      • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation. 
      • Desire for learning through research and asking questions.
      • Strong accountability for work and desire for feedback.
      • Demonstrated ability to remember details and complete assignments.
      • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, and HR/Payroll information systems.
      • Ability to adjust and adapt in a face paced and frequently changing environment.

    Worthiness Qualification

    Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
